If you’ve read our post on how to ask a great question, you likely walked away with some great tips on how you can create a well-thought-out question in our community in order to engage in thoughtful discussions with our volunteers or members of the Crisis Text Line team.
With that said, one of the most important aspects of sharing a post in our community is the title itself! The title serves as a summary of your question and is the first thing other members will see before deciding if they want to dive deeper into your post and engage.
Here are a few tips to take your discussion post title to the next level:
- Make sure your title accurately represents the core of your question, or discussion, so that community members with relevant expertise or experience are more likely to notice and respond
- Before posting, read the title and ask yourself if you’d be able to understand the context of the discussion by the title alone…if not, that likely means there’s room to add in a few more details 😉
- If you’re asking a question, make sure you’re crafting your title so that it’s framed in the form of a question — if you’re sharing a thought, resource, or non-question, try to create a title that explains what you’re sharing in more detail in your discussion post
